I started dabbling in photography when I was about 14 years old. My dad was a photographer and was always taking photos. He had even built a dark room in our garage. He would enter in contests, take wedding photos, and all kinds of stuff. He gave me my first camera, a Yashica SLR. I can remember him having many cameras. Dad would mostly use slide film and then show the photos on his slide projector. I used slide film also and would put together projects using music and the projector. I also joined the Explorer Scouts for Photography when I was in the 10th grade. We would go on outings and take pictures. I have taken thousands of photos just over the last few months. My latest camera was a Kodak Digital 10.2MP that I got on sale at Target for $89 two years ago. Unfortunately the screen got broken due to my son and his buddies horseplay so I have been using my cell phone camera. It’s ok I just can’t line up some shots as I would like. I would love to be able to zoom in. I hope to get another camera soon. I am so thrilled to be a member of Skid Row Photo Club. It’s more than just taking pictures. I believe this is a positive step. I get a natural high taking photos. I find it very theraputic to create something that I see through my God given eyes. I am a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (I draw blood) and a Medical Assistant, but have been unable to work at this time. I had to give up my childhood home after my dad passed and that’s how I ended up on Skid Row. A lot of my photos are on my FaceBook page. Check them out and tell me what you think. My page is under JoJo Wilbarger (JoAnna). Also I have been lending a hand to a great children’s author and illustrator by the name of Albert Harris. He has a cute little character. Check him out on Facebook. Most of all I hope to make others smile when they see a Photo by JoJo!
